It's not just American evangelicals that like it! An Israeli Messianic Jew wrote it, Jesus loves it, and Biblical Christians around the world recognize it as inspired and enjoy the added bonus of the blessing attached to reading it. While we don't know how all of it will be fulfilled, it makes perfect sense to God the Father, which is what matters most. You're right that everything on earth explodes, but the New Heavens and New Earth sure don't! I'd recommend reading it!
